This policy explains what Islamic Souls (operated by Dearborn 411 LLC) collects and how it is used. Contact: info@islamicsouls.com.
What is public
The details a family adds to a memorial — the person's name, dates, city, community, resting place, majlis details, story, photos and keepers' first names — are published on the memorial page. Listed pages appear in search; private-link pages only open from their link. Please don't add private details about living people.
What we collect privately
- Your name, email and (optionally) phone number when you create a page or request a meeting.
- Keepers' names and email addresses, so they can sign in and manage the page.
- Payment records (amount, date and the Square payment ID). Card details are entered into Square's secure form and never reach our servers.
- For living members: your profile, successors' names and contact details, private messages and your will (PDF). These are stored privately and never shown publicly while you live; after a confirmed passing they are shared only as you chose.
- A one-way scrambled version of your IP address, kept briefly to prevent spam and abuse (for example, repeated sign-in attempts).
We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
Private submissions
Anything a member marks private — a will, a private message to family, private photos — is encrypted when it's stored. Islamic Souls staff cannot read private submissions. Our admin tools show only what any visitor to the site could see, plus account and payment records. Private items are opened only by the site's own rules: for the member while they live, and after a confirmed passing for the successor(s) the member chose.
How it's used
To publish and manage memorials, process payments, send sign-in links and important notices (such as a failed monthly payment), answer your messages, and keep the service safe.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run Islamic Souls: Square (payments), Netlify (hosting and storage), Resend (email) and Google (if you book a Google Meet). They may only use the data to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Memorial content is kept for as long as the page exists. Payment records are kept as tax law requires. Abuse-prevention data is kept for a short period. Ask us any time to correct or delete information about you, or to remove a page you manage.
Children
Islamic Souls is for adults. Pages may honor children who have passed, but they must be created by an adult family member.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above and email managers about important changes.
